Protecting Your Investment

What an amazing machine we have here in the 2019 Ford GT carbon edition in liquid blue with red accent stripes. This has to be the most beautiful color combination on any car produced. With its stunning body design and sleek look, this car is simply going to be a head turner everywhere it goes! We were contacted about 60 days from delivery by the owner, (we did his Dodge Demon as well with a similar process) and he informed us he wanted to go all out with protecting this amazing car. You can imagine the excitement we both had… him for getting the car after a 4 year wait, and us for one of the most involved jobs we have ever completed, as well as one the most stunning cars we have worked on. We were beyond honored to be chosen by the owner to be the ones to protect his new addition to the fleet.

STAGE ONE
THE BEGINNING

Starting out with a thorough washing to remove any surface grime, any waxes, any silicones, any else from the paintwork, we used a foam cannon setup to get the breakdown started. Super soft, high quality mitts were used in this process to gently mechanically removed the grime.  After that, an iron remove product was used on the paint, then a clay bar treatment ensured the paintwork was smooth as can be. Finally, the Ford GT was washed once more.

WASH, CLAY TREATMENT, DECON, AND RE-WASH

Also, Modesta BC06 was applied to the wheels.  This forms a high temp resistance barrier on the wheels which helps prevent the brake dust from embedding into the wheels. Dirt and grime pressure wash off easily, and less cleaning is needed.  Simpler car care all around is what Modesta Glass Coatings offers for years to come! All wrapped up and ready for the future, this job was the most involved process Envious Detailing has performed!  We truly appreciate the opportunity to perform our services on this one of a kind Ford GT.

STAGE THREE
PAINT CORRECTION STEPS

Being a new car, one would think it was in very good, almost perfect condition. This is almost NEVER the case with any car make, Ford GT or Ferrari, or BMW, or Tesla. Not once have we come across a car that wouldn’t benefit from a proper two step paint correction for more gloss and depth as well as more clarity from the paint. That process is exactly what we did, two solid steps of polishing in order to refine the finish and get rid of scratches and light swirl marks in order to enhance the gloss and wetness from the paint. After the polishing was completed, the car was washed once more.

PAINT PROTECTION FILM

This is the step where the most important paint protection happens. PPF, paint protection film, is a thin 8ml film that is applied to the paint in order to protect against rock chips, road rash, accidental bumps, etc in order to protect the paint trying to save repainting panels. This is the BEST form of protection you will get for your car.  Wrapping your car in a plastic bubble helps you to rest easy while taking the car out for the weekend, or long drives without the fear of a thousand rock chips.

CLEAR BRA
PAINT PROTECTION FILM

On this particular Suntek Ultra clear bra install, we spared zero expenses and customized what we needed to in order to wrap the whole thing in clear bra. We did the entire top sides with a combo of modified pattern pieces and completely custom pieces.  We wrapped the underside TWO times with clear bra film in order to help keep the carbon fiber underbelly protected from the millions of hard hits this car will receive while driving on the track, and on the roads of orange county and los angeles county. Every panel was covered in paint protection film for protection against rock chip damage as much as possible.  It is like clear bra equates to wrapping your car in a bubble to protect the paint from the elements.

STAGE FIVE
CLEAR PLEX WINDSHIELD SKIN AND WINDOW TINT

Paint isn’t the only thing that will get damaged by rocks. The front windshield will also take a ton of abuse when driving, especially on spirited drives through canyons and on the track. This Ford GT windshield is definitely not going to be a cheap one, so an option to help prevent it from getting chipped up or cracking is clear plex windshield skin. It is a thin layer of film that adheres and conforms to the windshield for a semi-permanent solution against rocks cracking and chipping the glass.

CLEAR PLEX WINDSHIELD SKIN AND WINDOW TINT

The window tint was Suntek CIR ceramic tint film. We optimized heat rejection and visibility and aesthetics with our shad choices. 20% on the rear of the car, and 70% on the front windshield.  This gives the car a stunning look while allowing the driver to completely see in and out, all the while staying cool inside the car. The film will also keep the interior protected from UV damage keeping the whole interior factory fresh as long as possible.

FINAL STAGE
MODESTA PAINT COATINGS AND WHEEL COATINGS

When you want the best ceramic coating or glass coating, Modesta BC04 is it!  With its extremely glassy look transforming the paintwork, to the long term durability and protection, Modesta BC04 is truly the best coating we have used.  The car will stay looking cleaner longer, and the car will wash easier even when the front end is filled with bugs and grime. (You can find that here)  After BC04 application, simple maintenance is all that is needed for years to come!  Also, Modesta BC06 was applied to the wheels.
